Thieves on Thursday last week broke into a shop selling vehicle spare parts in Aweil town in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, and stole over 200,000 SSP, its owner said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Saturday, Deng Machar said the thieves broke into his shop while it was raining at night.
He said a case was opened with the police, but no arrests were made.
Deng blamed police for failure to protect businesses, despite the monthly contributions made to enable the police to carry out their duties.
An area police officer, who preferred anonymity, said the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is following up on the robbery case to ensure those who carried out the act face justice.
