Thieves break into civil society office in Juba, steal televisions

Thieves broke into the offices of South Sudan Civil Society Alliance (SSCSA) in Juba and looted televisions and stationary over the weekend.

Thieves broke into the offices of South Sudan Civil Society Alliance (SSCSA) in Juba and looted televisions and stationary over the weekend.

The motive behind the theft of the offices has not been established yet.

Confirming the incident, Akuoch Ajang, leader of South Sudan Civil Society Alliance, said that unknown criminals broke into their offices on Saturday night and stole two televisions and other items.

“They stole two commuters, there was one is my office, and another one at the reception.  They also stole the projector and other essential items in the office, they also broke the cupboards and desk drawers,” he said.

Akuoch pointed out that they opened a case with the police, saying security forces are investigating circumstances surrounding the theft.

The incident occurred at a time when several government officials claim that there is security in the capital Juba.
