Sudan’s Presidential Assistant Ibrahim Mahmoud Humid announced the arrival AU chief mediator Thabo Mbeki in Khartoum on Wednesday for further talks with the Sudanese parties on the peace process.
In a statement to Ashorooq TV on Tuesday, Hamid disclosed he had contacts with the US chargé d’affaires in Khartoum and a number of international officials, saying he briefed them on the latest developments following the signing of Mbeki’s roadmap.
He said Khartoum encourages regional and international efforts to persuade the opposition groups to sign the framework agreement that his government signed with the AUHIP.
