Citizens in Abu Kershola in Sudan’s Kordofan region have reported high tensions between the police and Sudan’s Popular Defense Forces (PDF), fearing it could turn into a tribal fight.

Sources told Radio Tamazuj that a police force clashed with a member of the (PDF) who was allegedly wanted on a criminal charge, resulting in injury to the militiaman.

This led tensions between the PDF and the police, with the possibility of escalating into tribal tensions because the PDF member who was injured was from one of the Arab tribes in Abu Kershola.

Sources said tension in the area is still high.
