Gbudue State has made huge strides when it comes to girls’ education, according to a local government local official.

Pia Philip Isaac, minister of education in Gbudue State, told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that enrolment of girls in schools has significantly improved this year compared to previous years.

However, he said adolescent and teenage girls remain the most vulnerable group, pointing out that teenage pregnancy is one of the main problems affecting his state.

The local official said his ministry is considering new projects to support girls’ education in the state.

He noted that the deteriorating security situation and low salaries for teachers are among the challenges hindering education in the state.
