Radio Jonglei 95.9 FM, the main radio station in the Jonglei State capital, Bor, has gone off the air due to a technical malfunction in its transmitter.
On Wednesday, the management posted on the station’s Facebook page: “Dear listeners, we got some technical issues in the system and we are working to fix it. Please be calm.”
The station’s manager, Chol John Merry Alier, confirmed the issue to Radio Tamazuj, stating that efforts are underway to resolve the problem and restore broadcasting as soon as possible.
“The radio has got a technical issue-transmitter got burned. I have alerted the online community about what happened. Probably on Sunday, we might be back on air.” Chol said.
Radio Jonglei 95.9 FM has been a vital source of information and entertainment for the residents of Bor and the surrounding areas. Established in 2010 to promote community engagement and provide a platform for local voices, the station has played a crucial role in disseminating news, educational content, and cultural programs.
