Teachers’ strike at Pariang Camp school enters second day

The teachers’ strike at Pariang Secondary School which was started on Monday has entered its second day. Alnazeer Osman Boram, Coordinator of Education at Yida Camp for South Kordofan refugees, told Radio Tamazuj that the strike began after the school administration received unexpectedly a letter from the child protection organization Save the Children asking the administration to dismiss teacher Hani Coco Teih. Boram said that the letter from the organization stated that the first reason for the dismissal is that the teacher had spoken to Radio Tamazuj about the situation and status of the girls’ hostel, also the organization stated that the second reason was they had found teacher Coco in the girls’ hostel at night; in addition to that he has instigated students to not take their shares of corn. Mr. Alnazeer Boram stated that the administration of the school considered what had come in the organizations’ letter was not enough to dismiss Hani Coco Teih.
