More than a dozen women in Tambura State received a one-day workshop on conflict resolution and peace building last week.
The participants told Radio Tamazuj that the workshop equipped them with knowledge on resolution of conflict and peaceful coexistence.
Michalina Makobo, the chairperson of Tambura State Women Association said women who bore the brunt of war in the country are desperate for peace.
Meanwhile, a representative of UNMISS Gender Affairs who organised the workshop Margaret Joshua said she was impressed by the women who attended the workshop and their zeal for peace.
“The country and the peace cannot be built by men alone; women also have a role to play. We should encourage our children both male and female to go to school. Let us not encourage early marriage for our girls that lead to school dropout. These girls should be allowed to go to school and participate in nation building, she urged.
