The road linking Tambura and Wau state has reopened after it was closed due to the conflict since 2015, a local official said.

James Adu Votoki, Deputy Governor of Tambura State told Radio Tamazuj Friday that they had received NGO vehicles that came from Wau three days ago.

“The vehicles also returned to Wau using the same road, so it confirms that the road is now open,” he said.

However, Votoki said that some damaged bridges linking his state with Wau need to be repaired, pointing out that some bridges had been partially blown off by flood.

He revealed that they will receive goods from Wau state soon. The deputy governor called on citizens to move freely after the road between Tambura and Wau reopened.
