Immigration officials in South Sudan’s Tambura State say they will soon be able to process nationality certificates and passports.

Immigration officials in South Sudan’s Tambura State say they will soon be able to process nationality certificates and passports.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, Tambura State Immigration Chief Officer in Tambura Evans Mario said the process had stalled due to technical hitches at the headquarters in Juba.

“Some people were saying that we were deceiving them that we are processing their passports but we were not deceiving them. The issue was in Juba, the machines were down but they repaired them and are now well functioning,” he said.

Mario stressed that the nationality documents are very important and urged the locals to apply for them. He further urged all those citizens who lost their nationality documents to acquire new ones.

The immigration official further said the process of registering foreigners in the state is ongoing.
