South Sudan’s Tambura State on Tuesday held a commissioners’ forum in a bid to identify challenges facing all state counties and provide a way forward.

Tambura State governor Patrick Raphael Zamoi addressing the press after the forum said the main challenges identified included poor infrastructure and lack of salaries.

He said the forum highlighted issues that his office will tackle once funds become available.

Yangiri County Commissioner Leticia Benito Gbafu said her county faces lack of administrative structures, no communication network, poor road infrastructure, and poor health facilities.

She noted that in case of an emergency within the county, only her car is available to provide assistance.

Leticia added that they have been advised to look for support from either the local community or external partners to resolve some of the challenges.
