Dr. Sharif Ali Al-Jaqar, the Secretary-General of the Temas Organization for Social Development, passed away on Tuesday in the Arab Republic of Egypt after a brief illness.
Tamas is a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in 2013 and operates in the Darfur region. It focuses on areas of peace, conflict resolution, peaceful coexistence, health, education, water and agriculture.
Issa Fadl Al-Maula, the organization’s head, expressed sorrow in a statement to Radio Tamazuj, saying, “With sadness, I announce the passing of our Secretary-General, the late Dr. Sharif Ali Al-Jaqar, who answered his final call in Egypt yesterday [Wednesday].”
Fadel Al-Maula emphasized the significant loss of a key figure in the organization and the state, noting that the late Dr. Al-Jaqar dedicated himself to development and humanitarian efforts for the people of East Darfur.
“Born and raised in Al-Daein and Darfur, he dedicated his life to significant contributions in the humanitarian field. His numerous achievements have positively impacted the people of Darfur,” Fadel stated.
He further emphasized that the community attested to his integrity, compassionate nature, hard work, and unwavering commitment to doing good.
