The African Culture Association in collaboration with Western Bahr El Ghazal Information Ministry organized a symposium in Wau town entitled Approach in Understanding the Culture of Peace and Peaceful Co-existence and Development.

Abaker Kur, the chairman of the association in Wau, told Radio Tamazuj that several stakeholders in the state have participated in the event that was organized by the association and the state government.

He noted academic papers were presented on understanding the culture of peace and peaceful coexistence, besides the history of music in South Sudan and the challenges facing social peace in the country.

Kun said the symposium came at a time in which communities of South Sudan are in need of such topics.

The African Culture Association in the University of Western Bahr el Ghazal was founded in 2012 after the independence of South Sudan. The body is concerned with laying down the culture of social peace in South Sudan, according to Kun.
