Local authorities in Northern Bahr el Gahazal State said three suspects were on Monday arrested over the Yinh Pabol incident in which two Sudanese traders were killed last week.
The two traders reportedly died while on their way from Al-Meiram to Yinh Pabol, a trade route located in Aweil East.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the former mayor of Majok Yinh-Thiou municipality, Luka Luac confirmed the arrest of the suspects, saying investigations into the incident are ongoing.
“Last week, there was an incident which happened in Yinh Pabol where two Messeriya traders were killed,” said Luac.
For his part, Anuai Mou Akoon, the area’s chamber of commerce chairperson condemned the killing of the two Sudanese traders, which he said occurred between Al-Meiram and Majok Yinh Thiou areas.
He appealed to local traders to remain calm, saying the culprits will face the law.
