Suspected murderer killed in a revenge attack in Unity State

Local authorities in Unity State have confirmed that a murder suspect was killed in an apparent revenge attack in Mankien Village of Mayom County in Unity State over the weekend.

Local authorities in Unity State have confirmed that a murder suspect was killed in an apparent revenge attack in Mankien Village of Mayom County in Unity State over the weekend.

The police commissioner in Unity State, Major General Paul Mayak Bol, told Radio Tamazuj that the deceased, Bol Gatduel, was killed last Sunday by Bol Kong, whose brother was killed by the former. 

“There is an incident of revenge killing which happened in Mankien of Mayom County. On Sunday a suspect identified as Bol Kong killed a person identified as Bol Gatduel who killed his (Kong’s) brother and he is still at large,” Gen. Mayak said. 

He, however, said that the general security in Mayom County where the revenge killing happened was now calm and stable despite tension on Monday morning.

The minister of information and communication in Unity State, Gabriel Hon Makuei Bol, confirmed the incident and termed it a revenge killing. 

“There is an incident which occurred in Mayom County. A man identified as Bol Gatduel was killed in revenge and this happened on Sunday,” Minister Hon said. 

He said the security situation in the area is calm.
