The authorities Jebel Boma County of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) said they had apprehended a suspected cattle raider.
County Commissioner Alston Logony Zuagin told Radio Tamazuj that the suspect was arrested on the outskirts of the Nyat wildlife post and that he was being investigated pending a handover to the Eastern Equatoria State government.
“This cattle raider was arrested by our youth who were moving from Jebel Boma town to Nyat. I asked the youth not to kill him but take him to the county headquarters. He identified himself and said he was in the company of five other people,” Zuagin said.
“We are investigating him and we will have him handed over to Eastern Equatoria State to prove what we have been saying about their youth in our bush rustling,” he added.
Efforts to reach Kapoeta East County Commissioner Abdalla Angelo Lokeno were futile.
