Suspected cholera cases reported in Duk, Jonglei

At least three suspected cases of cholera have been reported in Duk Islands of Jonglei since September 19, a health official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Saturday, PAH’s Wash Cluster Coordinator for Jonglei said more cases of unconfirmed cholera were also reported in Poktap, Padiet and Pajut areas of greater Duk between June and August.

The official revealed that a consortium of Wash partners will travel to Duk next week to make an assessment in order to start advocating and lobbying for support.

For his part, Jonglei Health Minister Angok Gordon Kuol said his ministry is yet to confirm the reported cases of cholera.
