A South Sudanese think tank based in Juba said it has recruited Nyathon Hoth Mai, a daughter of labour minister, as its new program officer.
The Sudd Institute, in a statement extended to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, said Nyanthon will assume the role of a full-time environmental and natural resources program officer.
The think tank also said it appointed Abraham Awolic as its acting executive director and promoted Nhial Tiitmamer to the level of a director.
“The Sudd Institute welcomes the new staff members, congratulates the newly promoted members, and wishes all a successful career at the Institute,” the statement said.
A daughter of South Sudan’s labour minister and ex-army chief of staff, James Hoth Mai, Nyathon, who holds a BSc in Geology from the Federation University, Australia, and an MSc in Global Energy and Climate Policy from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, previously worked as research associate at the Sudd Institute between October 2015 and January 2019.
