The Sudanese Youth Network to End the War and Establish a Civil Democratic Transition office in Juba commemorated the sixth anniversary of the peaceful December Revolution on Monday at the Sinias Hub Cultural Center.

The ceremony coincided with the “Let Them Take the Exam” campaign launched by the Sudanese Youth Network at the same venue.

Professor Tamhid Mohamed said in a statement to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the ceremony began with her delivering a speech about the December Revolution, during which she saluted the patient and cohesive Sudanese people who have been in war conditions that the country is going through. She stressed that the December Revolution has fixed values and its goals remain and efforts to achieve them are ongoing.

Anas Najm, a member of the network, explained that the “Let Them Take the Exam” campaign seeks to put pressure on the de facto government in Port Sudan in light of its intransigence and its insistence on holding exams in inappropriate conditions.

Mohammed Osman presented a paper on the role of the youth in the glorious December Revolution and explained the importance of the great role played by youth in the revolutionary movement, as they are the largest group that paid the price through security repression under the defunct Salvation regime, and their continuation and steadfastness until its uprooting in April 2019.

Erhaf Siddiq also presented a paper on the role of women in the glorious December Revolution and the decisive roles they played in the revolution.

“These efforts were crowned with the ululation that overshadowed the sounds of guns and triumphed over the tyranny of the tyrannical military,” she said.

The presenters interacted with the attendees who enriched the sessions with questions and comments that deepened awareness of the roles of youth and women in the revolution.

Christina Yaqoub, a member of the Center’s Advisory Board, thanked the network members for choosing Sinias Hub in the distinguished partnership between the Sudanese Youth Network and the Center, which aims to raise the capacities of young people, build their awareness, and contribute to creating a better future.

The anniversary celebration was accompanied by two art exhibitions by the Sukhun Bill and an exhibition of galleries from the glorious peaceful December revolution.
