A trader from Sudan’s Darfur region was on Friday found dead in the town of Torit in Eastern Equatoria State, a Sudanese trader and police said.
The incident occurred at Sejera Salam residential area.
Suleiman Mohamed, the head of the Sudanese business community in Torit town, said Ali Khalil’s body was found lying under a damaged vehicle.
“We found the body and took it to the hospital and when the doctor checked, it was found that nothing happened to him. We also have Form 8 from police showing nothing caused the death,” he explained.
Major Justine Kleopus Takuru, the state police spokesman, said the deceased died during the night and his body was found in the morning.
“At about 8 am, we received a call from the chief of Sejera Salam area that a person died under a vehicle in this residential area. A team led by the CID director, John peter Atsu visited the area,” he said.
The police officer said Ali Khalil was working in the market.
