Talks between Sudan's transitional government and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) led by Abdulaziz Al-Hilu were today suspended until Wednesday, the mediators said.

Thursday last week, the Sudanese government delegation led by Shams El-Din Kabbash requested four days to study a proposed framework agreement drafted by the SPLM-N and provide their response.

In their meeting, this morning, the mediation and SPLM-N delegation led by the movement's Secretary-General Ammar Amoun received the government's response and in turn, requested 24 hours to study the document before proceeding with the talks.

The South Sudanese mediation team led by President Salva Kiir's advisor on security affairs, Tut Galuak Manime said the talks will now resume on Wednesday morning.

Galuak said when they resume, they will discuss the government's response and engage in talks that will achieve peace and stability in Sudan.

The two parties commenced this new round of talks on Wednesday last week.
