Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) on Sunday seized print runs of Al-Saiha daily newspaper from the printing house without giving reasons.

Al-Saiha’s Chief Editor Ramadan Mahjub told Darfur 24 that the raid could be linked to a published interview with the commander of the Rapid Support Force (RSF), Mohammed Hamdan also known as Hamitti.

Al-Saiha was established 2014 by president Omer Hassan al-Bashir’s maternal uncle, al-Tayeb Mustafa.

The NISS routinely confiscates newspapers either to prevent circulation of certain stories or to punish them retroactively on previous issues.
