Sudanese security agents have arrested several students, guardians and teachers who organized protests outside Comboni School at Thoura El Hara 56 in Omdurman town.

A source told Radio Tamazuj the arrest came after the students and teachers protested against the local authorities in Kareri for failing to implement an order issued by a court to vacate the school.

Authorities reportedly confiscated the school which is part of the Catholic Church thinking that it had a connection with South Sudan. The Sudanese government has closed down several Christian schools in Khartoum and church lands after the separation of South Sudan in 2011.
