In a statement seen by Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, the opposition Sudanese Congress Party (SCP) said its chairman Omar al-Digair was arrested in North Kordofan State on Sunday morning.

The opposition party further said the former chairman of the party Ibrahim al-Sheikh and the human rights secretary Jalal Mustafa were also arrested.

Al-Daigiar, according to the statement, travelled to Al-Obeid to visit the head of the party’s regional council Mohamed Nur Tirab who was detained in Sodari.
