Sudan’s military intelligence is accused of killing four people in military detention in the war-torn state of South Kordofan.

Sudan’s military intelligence is accused of killing four people in military detention in the war-torn state of South Kordofan.

They were killed in Kurgul administrative unit in Habila Locality, according to activists.

The imprisoned were arrested along with three suspects on charges of spying for the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North which is fighting the Khartoum government in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.

Khatir Hussein and his son Tariq Khatir were arrested on 12 August, whereas Hamidan Mohamed Kortukeila Athorun and Abdurrahman Atey were arrested in July, according to the same source.

The other suspects who are still in detention were identified as Hassan El Pasha, Wad Ajabna Jabir and Mabrouk Ajabna Ali.

The activists who preferred anonymity for security reasons called for the immediate release of the other three detainees so that they are taken to the court.

They also accused some elements within the Military Intelligence service of targeting the people of Hablia Locality.

In May 2014, the military intelligence of Division 5 in Kadugli town allegedly killed about 23 people they were accused of supporting the Sudanese People Liberation Army, shortly after a battle in Daldako area near the capital Kadugli.
