Sudanese refugees suffering in Kakuma camp

More than 12,000 Sudanese refugees from Blue Nile and South Kordofan states are badly in need of aid assistance urgently in Kakuma camp in Kenya.

Kakuma camp accommodates refugees who have been forcibly displaced from their home countries due to war or persecution.

Mubarak al-Jabana, representative of the Episcopal Church, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the Sudanese refugees were experiencing deteriorating conditions due to shortages of food and medicines.

He explained that the spread of diseases and inadequate amounts of food and medicines in the camp have caused abysmal humanitarian conditions.

Mobarak called upon humanitarian organizations to provide food and medicines for the refugees especially women and children.
