Crops production at Yida camp for Sudanese refugees who are living in South Sudan’s Ruweng State was experiencing a high output this season due to enough rains with farmers saying they were happy about this year’s harvest season.

Al-Nur Saleh, one of the leaders at Yida camp for Nuba refugees, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the current harvest season has been very successful compared to the previous season, while attributed it to mild weather and rains on proper times.

Saleh added that the Sudanese refugees are now engaged in farming and the crops harvested will feed the population in the coming months.

Separately, the agriculture minister in the disputed Abyei region, Chol Aru Tuk, says this farming season has been good compared to the previous year.

Aru told Radio Tamazuj that the people of Abyei have harvested many crops this season and this he says will improve food stocks for next year.
