An alliance of Sudanese opposition political parties and civil society organizations plan to form a national committee to respond to the worsening humanitarian situation in South Sudan.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Wajdi Saleh, a member of the alliance, said they are concerned over the humanitarian conditions of South Sudanese who have been fleeing violence in their country.

He pointed out that their national committee will spearhead and coordinate the humanitarian assistance for South Sudanese.

Last week, the opposition alliance released a statement calling for quick humanitarian intervention to South Sudan.

Earlier this week, the civil society network in Sudan pledged to assist affected South Sudanese. They started a donations campaign in which they collected about a million clothes for children and women.
