A Sudanese oil engineer was killed and his driver wounded by bandits at Zarqa Um Hadid field in Sudan’s West Kordofan state Monday.
The engineer was identified as Abdel-Karim Kabo. A source told Radio Tamazuj that the victim was on his way from Babanusa town to the field.
“Kabo was intercepted by unknown criminals who first asked for help, but they soon shot him together with his driver, and drove the car to an unknown destination,” said the source.
The engineer died later, but the driver was transported to Khartoum for treatment.
Last week, an armed group also abducted a Chinese oil engineer near Beleila oil field.
