Mustafa Osman Figeiri was reportedly among the first group of Sudanese students who travelled to Syria work as a medical team for the IS, also known as ISIS, ISIL, or Daesh.

Sources said Figeiri, a British national, had become responsible for the IS pharmacies in Raqqa area before committing the attack.

He had studied pharmacology at the University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum, a private university established by Khartoum state minister of health Dr. Mamun Himeda.

Multiple students from Mamun Himeda’s university have travelled or attempted to travel to Syria to join IS.
