Sudanese documentary wins prize at African film festival

The Sudanese film “Beats of the Antonov” was named the best documentary film at the annual Luxor African Film Festival, which concluded on Saturday with the participation of about 41 countries.

The festival’s Grand Nile Prize for best documentary which is worth $3000 and a golden Tutankhamun mask was given to the Sudanese film director Hajoj Koka.

The film narrates the suffering of civilians in the South Kordofan and Blue Nile region since fighting erupted in 2011 between the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North Sudanese Armed Forces.
