The Vice-President of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Gen. Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo on Monday left for the Chadian capital N’Djamena for a one-day official visit.
This visit follows barely 24 hours after the President of the TSC, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan visited Chad for a day’s official visit.
The official Sudan News Agency, SUNA, reports that the visit is in response to an official invitation from Chadian President Mohamed Idris Deby.
Dagalo will hold talks with President Derby regarding strengthening bilateral relations between Sudan and Chad, security matters especially along the borders, and terrorism, SUNA reports.
The Transitional Sovereignty Council was accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Director of the Passports Department at the Ministry of Foreign AffairsAbdel Aziz Hassan, and Major General Abbas Hassan, Director of Foreign Intelligence.
Bakri Omar, a Sudanese political analyst, told Radio Tamazuj that Dagalo’s visit to Chad is mainly due to simmering security issues at the borders, especially the events in the Central Africa Republic.
