Three traders were killed and their goods looted in Abu Jubeiha Locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan state while traveling to South Sudan’s Upper Nile.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, a source in Jidaid Abu Nawara administrative unit said government militia from the border protection unit intercepted three lorries loaded with goods heading to South Sudan.

“The incident took place In Jidaid Abu Nawara area near Tibarak Company when forces from border guards unit attacked traders in lorries going to South Sudan,” a local resident claimed.

“They killed three traders and others were terribly beaten –  their vehicles were destroyed, afterward, the attackers drove away with two lorries, and took anything in the vehicles such as money and goods” he added.

In a separate incident, some criminals allegedly attacked a commercial vehicle along Abu Jubeiha-Upper Nile state route, on the same day.

Survivors of that assault reported the incident to the local authorities in Abu Jubeiha Locality, but they linked the attack to bandits, not government forces, according the same source.
