A jet fighter belonging to the Sudan Armed Forces on Monday dropped several bombs near a village in the Kauda area in the Nuba Mountains, injuring three people but none seriously.

The wounded were identified as Nadia (65), who was wounded in her head by a bomb fragment, Zakarya Lalo, (73) who was wounded in his left hand, and Jeily El Amin (40), who nearly lost a finger by a bomb fragment.

At least four bombs were dropped in the attack. Some farmlands with sorghum crops were burned and farmers had to struggle to put out the fire.

The victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Citizens remaining in the area expressed fear of more bombings to come.

Radio Tamazuj has withheld the name of the precise location of the bombing at the request of the Nuba authorities who believe that reports about the attack could attract further aerial assaults.

Bombings in the Nuba Mountains are regularly recorded since June 2011, when war broke out between the SPLM-N rebel movement and the Sudan government.
