A military court in El Obeid town in North Kordofan, Sudan has set 20 August as the date of the trial session for nine members of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N).

The accused told Radio Tamazuj Monday that the court martial has already started hearing judicial confessions.

The suspects were jailed in August last year from different areas in South Kordofan state.

Five Darfuris were arrested in Rashad town, while the rest hail from the Nuba tribe in El Moureb area, according to one of the detainees.

The detainees denied all accusations associating them with SPLA-N soldiers.

Shortly after fighting between SPLM-N forces and Sudanese Armed Forces and allied militia in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states in 2011,  Khartoum declared a state of emergency resulting in the arrests of many civilians.
