On Thursday Sudan and South Sudan said they will resume talks next week to discuss ending military operations and settling their outstanding disputes, after talks were stopped last month as clashes broke out.
Sudanese foreign ministry spokesman Al-Obeid Adam Marawih said the meeting will be held on May 29.
South Sudan chief negotiator Pagan Amum told Reuters ‘we agreed to resume negotiations May 29.’
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution on May 2 to cease hostilities and threatened both countries with sanctions.
