A senior official in charge of river transport in Sudan’s Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges, Majdi Mohammed Abdulraheem, said river transport between Sudan and South Sudan will resume soon.
Addressing the ministry staff after the lifting of American sanctions, Mohammed said river transportation had been affected for the last 20 years of the sanctions. He revealed a 2030 ministerial plan to improve and invest in river transportation.
Mohammed further explained that there will be a route for companies from Baber town to Kosti and from there to South Sudan.
