South Sudan’s minster of foreign affairs Barnaba Marial Benjamin said he expects meetings to discuss the border demarcation between Sudan and South Sudan and the security issues to resume in Addis Ababa in late January.

Barnaba told Radio Tamazuj the meetings will be headed by the defense ministers of the two countries. He said dialogue between Sudan and South Sudan within the framework of bilateral relations and the joint cooperation agreements is already underway.

The minister said blamed the lack of border demarcation between South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and other neighboring countries on the successive Sudanese governments before 2011.

Abdalla El-Sadig, the chairman of technical committee for demarcation confirmed in a statement to Sudanese press that the negotiation process will begin in late January.

He said demarcation of 2400 kilometers is already 80% complete, while saying that Juba has delayed completion.
