Sudan, South Sudan agree to secure common border

Sudanese Information Minister Ahmed Bilal Osman says they agreed with South Sudan officials to deploy joint military forces to security the common border between the two countries.

In September 2012, the two Sudans signed a series of cooperation agreements including re-deployment of joint forces along a safe demilitarised zone.

Speaking to the Sudanese Media Centre (SMC), Osman welcomed the withdrawal of South Sudan forces from the border, saying the move was in line with a previous agreement between the two sides.

The Sudanese official called on South Sudan government to implement agreements signed by the two countries.
