Security organs are continuing to summon and arrest many doctors, following the arrest of Prof. Ahmed al-Sheikh, chairperson of the Sudanese surgeons union and Dr. Ihsan Fagri a member of the central committee.

This comes after doctors called off a strike last month following talks with Sudan’s vice president.

Dr. Ahmed al-Abwabi said on his social media account that he was released late Sunday and ordered to report to the national security office on Monday.

Security organs have arrested many doctors since Sunday morning.

The Sudanese surgeons committee said in a press statement that Shakir Zain al-Abdien was arrested from the operation room in Soba university hospital by police force and members of the committee from al-Obied, Wad Medani and Hasaisa were also summoned.
