Sudan security arrest seven doctors over strike

Sudanese security agents have arrested seven doctors following their strike on Tuesday, a committee representing the striking doctors said.

In a statement seen by Radio Tamazuj yesterday, the doctor’s central committee said the national security office summoned many doctors recently and that seven among them were detained.

The committee called on the national security service to immediately release the arrested doctors or take them to court.

For its part, Sudan’s National Ministry of Health vowed to deal with the striking doctors, saying the fresh strike staged by the doctors shows lack of responsibility.
