Sudanese security agents on Monday stopped Human Rights Monitor President Amin Mekki Madeni from travelling abroad.

The security reportedly informed Madeni that he will not be allowed to travel after he signed the “Sudan Appeal” declaration.

The security forces in December last year detained Mekki Madeni, Farouq Abu Issa and Farah Agar after returning to Khartoum from Ethiopia where they had signed the “Sudan Appeal” with armed rebel groups demanding end of conflict and democratic transition. They were released in April.
