Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) on Tuesday arrested Omar Yusuf al-Digair, leader of the opposition Sudanese Congress Party (SCP) and another member of the party.
On Wednesday morning, the SCP party announced the arrest of its leader Omar al-Digair and another member of the party called Suleiman Dinari.
Separately, multiple sources from Atbara town told Radio Tamazuj that students at Wadi Halafa University and local residents took to the street to protest against the government decision to raise electricity and fuel price.
Reportedly, security organs arrested many students and used tear gas to disperse the protests.
