Sudan’s Federal Ministry of Education and Guidance on Tuesday dispatched examination forms for Sudan School Certificate Examinations candidates to Nyala, the capital of South Darfur State.

The Minister of Education and Guidance in the state, Omar Adam Omar, told Radio Tamazuj that despite difficulties in delivering the forms and communication network interruptions, his ministry succeeded in distributing the forms to all 21 localities of the state after their arrival on Tuesday.

“The ministry has set 1 May as the deadline for receiving the examination forms from all localities to review them and send them to the Federal Ministry,” he said. “During the meeting, the matrix of guidelines related to education in the state for the years 2024 and 2025 was discussed, and these guidelines were received from the Federal Ministry in collaboration with UNESCO.”

He added that a meeting has been scheduled to discuss how to implement the guidelines.

Minister Adam clarified that schools in the state lack many basic services, in addition to the non-payment of teachers' salaries for several months.

“The state education ministry has decided to involve the community and parents in contributing to the management of the educational process in the state,” he stated.

The Ministry of Education and Guidance in South Darfur State issued an order to reopen schools in February but the decision was not implemented by the teachers due to the delay in their salaries and the lack of educational services in the schools.
