Sudan’s VP says ‘we will not relinquish inch of land to S Sudan’

Sudan’s Second Vice President Hassabo Mohamed said the Sudanese people and their political parties have foiled plans that aimed to destabilize the country, referring to the “Leave Campaign” being spearheaded by the opposition alliance under the Sudan Appeal Declaration.

This came while addressing a crowd at Sabdo area in East Darfur State following a tour to Bahr al Arab area which lies near the Sudan-South Sudan border.

The top official further said the people who voted in the elections showed a great sense of patriotism and a lesson of responsibility. He added the people and the political parties have been able to win legitimacy.

It is time to fulfil the aspirations of the Sudanese people and voters by providing security and stability,” according to Hassabo.

He stressed that his government will never leave an inch of a Sudanese territory to South Sudan, referring to the disputed area of Al Samaha between Sudan and South Sudan. He called on citizens to cooperate with security agencies to combat smuggling and pursue the smugglers.
