Sudan’s presidential aide, Norway envoy discuss situation in Two Areas

Sudan’s Presidential Assistant Ibrahim Mahmud Hamid met Tuesday with the visiting Norwegian envoy to the two Sudans Jens-Petter Kjemprud in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

In a press statement after the meeting, Kjemprud said they discussed ways and means on how to ensure the delivery of aid assistance to conflict-affected people in the South Kordofan and Blue Nile regions.

He further said they conferred on the possibility of his country's contribution to make sure the two warring parties reach an agreement on humanitarian access in the Two Areas.

The Norwegian diplomat pointed out that they also discussed how a peace agreement could be reached between the government and the Sudan People's Liberation Army-North (SPLA-North) in the upcoming round of talks under the AU mediator Thabo Mbeki.
