Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir has sacked his foreign minister on Thursday evening, the state-owned news agency SUNA reported.

No reasons were given for the dismissal of Foreign Minister Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Ghandour.The decree also did not say who would replace the outgoing minister.

In a speech to lawmakers on Wednesday, Ghandour said his ministry had been unable to pay the rent for several diplomatic missions across the world due to the country’s economic crisis.

He revealed that Sudanese diplomats have not received salaries and there is also a delay in paying rent for diplomatic missions.
