Party leaders of Sudan’s National Consensus Forces yesterday evening signed the “Sudan Appeal” and a Joint Action Charter with the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF).
At the signing, which took place at Azhari House in Khartoum, the participants condemned political detentions and constitutional amendments, particularly in making the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) into an organized force.
The signatories declared their solidarity with Sudan Appeal signatories Farouk Abu Issa and Amin Mekki Medani, who are still in detention in Khartoum, as well as the National Umma Party, which is facing desolution after a complaint by NISS.
The opposition coalition rejected any attempts by the Political Parties Council to dissolve any political party. They added that the existence of political parties is a constitutional right, while affirming that the Joint Action and Sudan Appeal are the way out from the current crisis in Sudan.
Meanwhile, a public festival is expected to be organized in which all opposition political parties are expected to sign the Sudan Appeal.
