Sudan’s Humanitarian Aid Commission has dismissed a report by UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) that about 4 million people will face a crisis level of food insecurity from March to September 2016.

In statement yesterday, the commission said OCHA is not authorized to release reports on food production in Sudan. The Commission further said OCHA didn’t consult them on the report.

In its weekly bulletin last week, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said about 4 million people will face a crisis level of food insecurity from March to September of 2016.

The report added that the South Kordofan and the Blue Nile regions are the most affected areas by food crisis.
