Sudan’s Bashir calls for provision of services to returnees

Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir has called on Sennar state governor Al-Dhau Al-Mahi to provide Sudanese citizens returning from South Sudan with basic services and opportunities for investment, following the lifting of American economic sanctions.

Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir has called on Sennar state governor Al-Dhau Al-Mahi to provide Sudanese citizens returning from South Sudan with basic services and opportunities for investment, following the lifting of American economic sanctions.

President Bashir met Al-Mahi on Tuesday in Khartoum and discussed the general situation in the state including a great harvest witnessed this farming season.

Al-Mahi said in a statement that they have harvested cotton, sesame and other crops in bulk.

Thousands of Sudanese cattle headers returned back to Sudan after South Sudan’s independence but they have been complaining about lack of services provided by the state government.
